China and Google

Since 2006, Google has been required by the Chinese Government to censor its search results. After a string of problems over the next four years, some Google's fault, some China's, Google threatened to leave China in January 2010.

A few days ago, Google officially pulled the plug on their mainland China operation, and rerouted all traffic to the uncensored Hong Kong search site. China has since blocked or censored the Hong Kong Google for many of their citizens.

Will China's deathgrip on Internet censorship eventually loosen? Or, will Google's action only make them tighten their grasp?

Why the hell can't China live with it's citizenry believing two diametrically opposed sets of facts. Heh, we're doing it.

There is nothing civil about civil wars!
