Disgusting Behavior By Teabaggers Again

Just in the last 48 hours we have been witness to hideous incidents in which teabaggers have hurled money and insults at a man with Parkinson's disease, have called a black Congressman a NiGGER (yes I said, it and I hope everyone hears it in their head when they read it), another a FAGGOT and spat at congress-critters as they passed by where the Teabaggers, all 300 of them, were protesting about a bill I doubt many of them know a damn thing about.

I am just informed that there is more incivility on the House floor, as the Representatives gather to cast a historic vote on healthcare which probably won't take place 'till midnight at the rate things are going.

I am also informed that the Stupack group have just come over being assured that Obama would make it clear through an executive order that no taxpayer bucks would go to abortion clinics and such.

So, we have the votes, all Democratic, to pass the senate bill. Now we shall have to wait for the Senate to see how many of "the fixes" make it into law. In other words, how will reconciliation go?

But back to the topic at hand. The ugliness beginning last August up through the last 48 hours has clearly reached a fevered pitch and given that this outraged is being sponsored by
PACs like those of Dick Armey and the healthcare industry, the Republicans should be saddled with that ugliness for years to come.

Let these past years be the GOPs 1960s. From 1968 to the present the GOP has held sway in Washington in one way, the other or both. Out of those 40 years they have held the White House for 28 years while the Democrats have held it for it for 16. The Democrats held congress until 1994 and only regained a working majority in 2008, only to loose it in the Senate a few months ago when Mass. chose a Republican to replace Ted Kennedy.

All this because the Left has been pilloried by the Right in this country about their very public nervous breakdown in every major city street and college campus in America. Young men, not wanting to be sent to that sausage grinder in S.E. Asia and young women not wanting them to go for no good reason, showed their fear of death on the evening news every night. Added to this were the peace people themselves, the Hippies and the Flower children, who have remained liberal minded, and far ahead of those demonstrators who were simply trying to save their own lives and the lives of others from a quagmire, when it comes to social and economic justice. Nevertheless, they added to the hysteria on the right because the of drugs and so forth.

What we all got for our troubles was 40 years of hell, the GOP doing their damedest to undo the New Deal and The Great Society.

Well, I say rave on Teabaggers. Do to the Republicans what the Left did to the Democrats 40 years ago.

The major differences in the two movements is one is organized by professional organizers, though not very good ones, and the other was not. The Movement 40 years ago started against a democratic president who lied us into that quagmire in S.E. Asia and a republican president who continued to lie and finally broke down into a drunken, paranoid mess. It was a movement that was truly grass roots movement. One was for peace, the modern version didn't give a hoot about that war crime in Iraq, but are violently against healthcare reform, although it will probably help some of them.

There is nothing civil about civil wars!
