Best things:

One of the best things I have read or heard today:

While, as I believe, the fringe teabaggers do bear watching, we should not become so fearful of them that we become like them and start to smear and threaten anyone we believe does not share our every thought or idea.

I've seen quite a bit of that around the 'internets' and I believe it's a mistake. I'm not, however, seeing the kind of foul mouthed, rage on the left that I'm seeing on the right and certainly not the same venom from the Democrats as I am hearing dangerous buzzwords from the Republicans.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express my view that the man who threatened Eric Kantor and his family should be tried and if found guilty, or pleads guilty, held to the highest extent of the law.

We cannot, in a democracy, have our elected officials threatened with violence and/or death, no matter what party, if any, they are affiliated. That is every bit as dangerous as allowing unfettered lobbying and campaign contributions from corporate America.

The kind of venomous language and actions we have witnessed over the past year can be the beginning of a serious breakdown in society if allowed to foment, let alone be enouraged by political and media figures.

Let's make every effort to dial it back, folks. Our nation is literally at stake.

There is nothing civil about civil wars!
